The Cape Albatross Hang Gliding Club is based in Cape Town, South Africa. The club has a long and rich heritage going back to the early days of the sport. The Cape Albatross Hang Gliding Club was formed in 1977 from an amalgamation of the Cape Sky Surfers and the Albatross Hang Gliding Club. Today the club consists of a small community of friendly folks who love to fly hang gliders in one of the most scenic areas in the world.

Flying Table Mountain

The main function of the club is to coordinate and promote hang gliding in the Western Cape. We are sanctioned by the national governing body, SAHPA. Our core focus is to get people flying by looking after training, licensing and safety, and site preservation.

The club provides a gateway for new people to enter the sport. New pilots are trained by a certified instructor and integrated into the club.

The club meets monthly, and organizes "flyaway" weekends to interesting places. The regulars fly every weeekend and a couple of people are able to fly in the week too.
